Genomics profiling
Personalized and preventive care
Personalized healthcare
The Intelligence Grid is driving a new, personalized era of healthcare, advancing genomics and multiomics technologies to interpret individual genetic profiles. This speeds up drug discovery and enables tailored treatments, which enhance effectiveness and minimize side effects for patients.
Genomics research
M42’s Omics Centre of Excellence is the world’s largest Omics facility outside the U.S. with a capacity to sequence 400,000 genomes annually using its Illumina and Oxford Nanopore technologies. The facility is home to the Emirati Genome Program (EGP) and has the highest level of automation in sample and library prep, and the region’s largest computational resources in terms of processing power and storage.
Led by the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) and operated by M42, the EGP is one of the UAE’s flagship health initiatives, combining advanced genomic research with the power of precision and preventive medicine, enabling national population-level initiatives, such as pre-marital screening.
Predictive dialysis insights
Informed by more than 30 years of dialysis expertise, M42’s Diaverum has developed a proprietary digital platform that connects clinics worldwide and utilizes AI to provide novel insights and predictive analytics. This enables clinics to alert patients ahead of time about their dialysis needs and predict episodes of vascular access thrombosis among hemodialyzed patients one week in advance, thereby reducing hospital stays and the mortality rate among dialysis patients.
Precision medicine
Pharmacogenomics (PGx) examines how an individual's genetic makeup influences their response to medications, enabling the development of personalized treatment plans. By tailoring drug therapies to a person's genetic profile, M42 improves treatment effectiveness, reduces side effects and optimizes dosing.
